Magnetic Resonance Imaging in Clinical Neurology

Abstract
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) was avaiable to physicists since the 1940's for which block and Purcell were awarded the noble prize in physics in 1952. it was not until the early eighties when adequates human body images could not be produced and MRI advanced from a research tool to a widespread clinical use within a decade and invaluable to a practising neurolgist. this has been a major became advance in neuro imaging since the invention of the computerized axial tomography (CT) by Hounsfield and colleagues (2-4). and has given new insights into different pathological processes of the nervous system.
