Abstract
this study was conducted to find out the incidence of malignant ovarian tumour in the total histology specimen over one year period (from Jauary 1998 to Decmeber 1998). Total of 3095 specimen were received in the histology section of the pathology department, LRH, Peshawar. 155 out of these were ovarian specimen. 36(39.9%) of the ovarian speciemen were malignant i.e. 1.2% of the total 3095. When this figure was compared with the statistics from IRNUM (Institute of Radiotherapy andNuclear Medicine) they had received 86 patients during the period for the treatment of malignant ovarian tumor 17.2% of the total female admission.
