Diagnosis Of Microhematuria By The Kova System
Main Article Content
Abstract
The KOVA system is the standard semiquantitative urinary sediment method. One hundred and fourteen (114) unselected urinary samples in urological patients were checked using the KOVA system. In 85.08% the results were no RBC / ml, whereas in 14.92% there were 4000-8000 or over 8000 RBC / ml. The impression is that there are no "˜normal' ranges concerning hematuria and each microhematuria can be caused by a malignant disease especially if the patient is older than 50 years.
