Type A Personalities Are Prone To Hypertension And Coronary Heart Disease

Abstract
In recent years, a great deal of attention has been devoted to the psychological study of patient with cardiovascular disease and search for its relationship with hypertension and coronary artery diseases is pursed. We tried to establish a relationship between the above factors with the help of a questionnaire. Thirty hypertensive patients were randomly selected and scored according to their response to the questionnaire; 80% were found to have type A behavior and of these 60% were females. It is concluded that type A behavior predisposes to hypertension and the incidence is more among females.
