Schwannoma (Neurilemmona) of Facial Nerve (Upper Buccal Branch)

Abstract
Schawannoma is benign tumour of nerve sheath. Embryologically neural crest differntiate into schawann cells and neurofibroma. Nerve tumours are forming only about 1 percent of all head and neck tumours. Schawannoma constitute 8 percent of all intracranial tumours. They are almost twice as common infemale. They occur in the middle decade of life. If associated with von recklinghausen neurofibromatosis they may be multiple.
