Glaucoma, Presentations and Management at Khyber Teaching Hospital Peshawar

Abstract
This is a retrospective study of in-patient data with the daignosis of glaucoma for the year 1998 (01/01/1998 to 31/12/1998). A total of 202 eyes with glaucoma were managed with a male to femal ration of 1.1:1. Majority of patients had secondary glaucoma, which amounted to 93eyes (46.04%). Primary open angle glaucoma accounted for 78 eyes (38.62%) and the lowest incidnece was of paediatric glaucoma affecting 8 eyes (3.97%). Majority of these patients underwent surgical treatemnt, a total of 168 eyes (83.17%) and the main operation performed was trabeculectomy.
