Treatment of Falciparum Malaria
Main Article Content
Abstract
Falciparum malaria is a potentially fatal disease. Early and appropriate chemotherapy is the corner stone in its management. Uncomplicated cases can be treated with cholroquine, fansidar or Halfan. Complicated falciparum malaria would require parenteral quinine preferably under supervision of clinician. All newer antimalarial drugs should be reserved for the treatment of falciparum malaria only.
