Acute Complications of Meningococcal Meningitis in Children

Abstract

In a series of 150 patients with group A meningococcal 13.33% (n=20) had different acute complications. Convulsions were the commonest complication followed by cranial nerve palsies. Arthritis was not uncommon. Neurological complications had bad prognostic significance.
